It is the product of the region’s need to have a higher education institution that could be an alternative for those who wish to enter university and do not have the necessary economic resources to travel to mainland Colombia or abroad. It provides education and carries out programmes that encourage the incorporation into the system of applicants from urban and rural areas marginalized from economic and social development.
