The Fundación Empresarios por la Educación (ExE) presents an analysis of the education proposals of the main presidential candidates for the 2026 elections.
The report systematizes 249 proposals compiled between February and April 2026 from government programs, debates, interviews and public interventions. The analysis identifies priorities, approaches and differences in the way the candidates understand the challenges of the Colombian education system.
Among the main findings, the study shows that most proposals focus on issues related to system management, quality of learning and access to education, while dimensions such as evaluation and information management receive less attention in campaign agendas.
The analysis also shows agreement among candidates on issues such as reducing gaps, education and employment, and strengthening educational trajectories, although important differences persist in their views on the role of the State, productivity, citizenship and the approach to educational transformation.
The report takes as a reference the transformations outlined in the book Decisions that Change Educationa roadmap aimed at strengthening complete, continuous and quality educational trajectories.
ExE also enabled an interactive dashboard that allows you to explore the proposals by candidate, topic, educational level and level of alignment with the framework of analysis.
