Secretaries of Education in the Time of COVID-19

This document addresses the challenges and concerns faced by the educational community in Colombia during the pandemic. A survey conducted by the ExE Foundation’s Observatory of Educational Management in collaboration with the World Bank examines the perceptions of 41 departmental, municipal and district education secretariats, representing more than 21,000 schools and nearly 4 million students. The main challenges identified include ensuring the integrity and continuity of assessment processes, preventing school dropouts, and ensuring continued student learning. The concern for the emotional health of students and the need for access to technological resources and the internet is highlighted.
